Cat behaviour solutions.
I'm Karin - a certified Cat Behaviour Consultant and Animal Reiki Practitioner based on the Gold Coast, Australia, with over 10 years of hands-on experience.
From pre-adoption decisions to managing behaviour challenges, I offer simple, practical advice that truly works for both you and your cat, combining proven cat behaviour strategies with gentle Reiki healing.
Whether you’re worried your cat seems bored, stressed, destructive, overly vocal or simply not quite settled, I help busy cat parents create calmer, happier homes — without overwhelm, guilt or complicated routines.
Affordable upgrades that make a real difference for indoor cats.
How I can help your cat:
Cat coaching.
"I'm busy, but I still want to do right by my cat."
"Can I turn my apartment into a space my cat loves?"
"She's not using the litter box. What now?”
If this sounds familiar — you're in the right place.
I help create a cat routine for a busy lifestyle, guide new cat parents through the first steps and advice on how to make room for a cat even in small spaces. Behaviour issues never happen for no reason. They can be a sign of fear, stress or boredom and your cat communicates this the only way they know how. Often, what we perceive as "bad behaviour" is actually natural feline instinct that needs proper outlets and management.
Animal Reiki.
“My cat is struggling with anxiety and stress.”
“My cat needs help recovering from illness.”
“My cat has experienced past trauma.”
Research shows the positive effects of Reiki on animals' well-being.
Reiki is a non-invasive energy healing practice that reduces stress and encourages natural healing and balance. If you want to support your cat’s behaviour management, emotional or physical health … or if you just want to reward your beloved puss with a very special treat, I help cats and their families find the balance and harmony they deserve.
Meet Karin:
What ten years in a cat shelter taught me about your cat.
My journey began over ten years ago volunteering at a local cat shelter. There I worked with some of the most vulnerable animals — scared, unsocialised and sick cats.
I know how to make cats comfortable in small spaces, to allocate limited time effectively and help them play nicely with ‘room mates’. And I have answers to the questions you didn't even know you had before bringing a new cat home. The shelter has taught me to meet each animal exactly where they are, not where we'd like them to be.
Today, I combine that hands-on experience with evidence-based behaviour coaching and the gentle support of animal Reiki — because cats, like people, benefit from being understood on every level.
I have a Certificate Feline Behaviour & Psychology, a Certificate Cat Behaviour Health Practitioner, a Certificate II Reiki / Animal Reiki and 10+ years hands-on shelter experience.
But my greatest teachers have been the hundreds of cats who showed me what trust, patience and healing truly look like.

What is animal Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing practice. It works with universal life energy to promote relaxation, reduce stress and support the body’s natural healing process.
Like gently turning down all the background noise in both mind and body.
When the noise quietens, the body can rest.
When the body rests, healing becomes possible.
Long used successfully in hospitals worldwide for humans, it's now increasingly recognised as a powerful tool for animal care.
A core feature of Reiki is that it can do no harm.
Reiki practitioners use intention, focus and meditation to build an energetic connection with the animal. It is a gentle, non-invasive and stress-free process that creates a space of unconditional love.
It can be offered hands-on or across any distance. Remote sessions are ideal for cats who are anxious, during emergencies or when an in-person visit simply isn't possible.
Reiki offers a holistic approach to animal welfare that works alongside but does not replace veterinary care.
How Reiki can support your cat:
For anxious or fearful pets:
When your pet seems constantly on edge, hides away, startles easily, or struggles to settle, Reiki can help create a greater sense of calm, safety and relaxation.
During recovery:
Whether after surgery, illness or injury, Reiki offers gentle support during the healing process and can help stressed animals rest more deeply.
For behaviour challenges:
Sometimes behaviour changes are symptoms of fear, overwhelm or emotional discomfort. Reiki supports emotional balance alongside behavioural work.
For pets with trauma histories:
Animals who have experienced neglect, instability or abuse often carry lingering fear and tension. Reiki can help support trust, regulation and emotional recovery over time.
For senior pets:
As pets age, comfort matters deeply. Reiki helps older animals relax more easily, feel more settled and enjoy a better quality of life.
For ongoing wellbeing:
Many pet owners use Reiki as part of a preventative wellness routine to support balance, connection, and overall wellbeing.
End-of-life support:
Reiki offers a gentle, peaceful presence during this difficult transition — supporting both pets and the humans who love them.

Client success stories:
Archie was my first socialisation management cat. He was trapped in an industrial estate - terrified in the shelter, hissing and growling when people came close and furious to be confined in a cage. So, I brought him home on foster. It took two months of daily interaction, countless offers of play, treats and carefully increasing touch. But then Archie decided that he loved being a pet cat and turned into a real smoother. There is nothing like the first time an anxious cat finally leans into your hand and closes the eyes in bliss! Archie has taught me so much about socialising and winning the trust of a fearful animal. I will forever be grateful to him.
Allycat was a tough case. When her owner died, the daughter was happy to take on the cat. But Allycat was quite elderly and only allowed the previous owner to handle and care for her. She launched at people and was very stressed in the new environment. We decided that I work with her for a few weeks - or she would be euthanised for her own wellbeing. The clock was ticking. I used every opening to win her heart while respecting the space she needed. The first time she came up to great me with a head bump, I was so overjoyed that I simply kissed her little head - surprising both of us. Allycat went on to live a very happy live with her new guardian.
This is Momo. She came to me as a 9-week-old kitten with a neurological disorder. Her head wobbled when she was moving. It looked adorable and was not impacting her gist for her strictly indoor life. But the other kittens in the shelter were bullying her, and she needed extra care to gain weight. Momo grew into a strong and healthy kitten ‘far too quickly’. She was the most difficult one of all my foster cats to return to the shelter to be rehomed. Special need cats are indeed very special.
I have a soft spot for senior cats. Bella was 15 and fragile. She needed daily medication and I had to get creative to get her to eat and make my home suitable for aching legs. There is so much you can do to make the golden years of your cat shine. Even small changes can make all the difference to their quality of life. When cats have given you so many years of joy, it’s a privilege to step up and shower them with love and care as they get older.
